Description

The Saturday Evening Workshop is canceled.

On Sunday (April 8, 2018), you are invited to go deeper in an all-day workshop with Daysi Marquez, our colleague joining us from Honduras, who will lead participants through activities drawn from Central American non-sexist pedagogy workshops. The product of eighteen years of collaboration and solidarity among Central American teachers’ unions and the BCTF-funded non-governmental organization Co-development Canada, these workshops have succeeded in empowering teachers from a number of Central American countries to support their students in developing non-sexist attitudes and behaviours.

Participants will:
• become familiar with a Central American non-sexist pedagogy model.
• compare challenges faced by teachers in North America and Central America.
• develop tools to incorporate non-sexist pedagogy into their classrooms.
• plan on sharing these tools and knowledge with colleagues at home.

This will take place Sunday, April 8th, 9 am-4 pm, at the Surrey Teachers' Association Office, upstairs, 9030 King George Boulevard, Surrey. It will also be free of charge, and Breakfast (pastries, fruit, yogurt) and hot lunch will be served to all.

Please register for the Sunday workshop at the Surrey Teachers' Association Office.
